Dr. Cara Semino (pronounced seh-mee-no) was raised in northern Wyoming and brings a grounded approach to every patient interaction. With a background rooted in health and movement, her path to optometry began with a passion for understanding how vision affects everyday life.
Education
Dr. Semino earned her Bachelor’s degree in Kinesiology and Health Promotion from the University of Wyoming on an academic scholarship. She went on to receive her Doctor of Optometry degree from the California College of Optometry in Fullerton, CA. She later completed a residency in Primary Eye Care and Ocular Disease through the Riverside–San Bernardino County Indian Health System.
Services
Dr. Semino is skilled in contact lens fittings, ocular disease management, and co-management for refractive and cataract surgery. Her clinical interests include dry eye treatment, surgical aftercare, and helping patients find clarity.
Awards & Certifications
She is certified in the treatment and management of ocular disease by the National Board of Optometry and is licensed to use diagnostic and therapeutic pharmaceutical agents in California.
Teaching & Clinical Leadership
Before joining SALT. Optometry, Dr. Semino served as both a clinician and clinical instructor within the Indian Health system, guiding optometry students and residents as they built their own careers in patient care.
