Eye Care with Vision Insurance, HSA or FSA
We know insurance and payment options can be overwhelming, but they don’t have to be. At SALT. Optometry, we proudly accept VSP and welcome payments through your Health Savings Account (HSA) and Flexible Spending Account (FSA). Whether you're planning ahead or asking at checkout, our team will walk you through every option.
Vision Insurance (VSP)
We accept VSP (Vision Service Plan) and are happy to help you make the most of your benefits. If you have VSP coverage, your plan may include:
- A comprehensive eye exam
- An allowance toward prescription eyeglasses or contact lenses
- Discounts on lens enhancements like blue light filters, anti-glare, or progressive lenses

PPO Insurance Plans
In addition to VSP, we also accept many major PPO medical insurance plans for services that fall under medical eye care. This may include visits for:
- Dry eye treatment
- Eye infections or inflammation
- Foreign body removal
- Allergies or irritation
- Pre- and post-surgical eye care
Coverage depends on your individual plan and the reason for your visit, but our team is happy to help verify your benefits and explain what’s covered.
FSA & HSA: What’s Covered
Your Flexible Spending Account (FSA) or Health Savings Account (HSA) can be used to pay for more than just your copay. Many vision-related services are eligible for full or partial reimbursement, including:
- Comprehensive eye exams
- Prescription eyeglasses
- Prescription sunglasses
- Contact lenses and lens solutions
- Blue light and computer glasses
- LASIK and other refractive surgeries

Using Your FSA or HSA at SALT. Optometry
Our team is here to help patients from Newport Beach, Lido Isle, Balboa Peninsula, Costa Mesa, and the greater Orange County area take full advantage of their coverage.
If you have an FSA or HSA debit card, you can use it at checkout just like a regular credit or debit card.
You can also combine your vision insurance benefits with your HSA or FSA to help cover any out-of-pocket costs.
If you don’t have a card on hand, no problem, you can pay using another method (credit, debit, cash, or check), and we’ll provide an itemized receipt with all the proper medical codes for reimbursement.
