Dr. Ben Szu earned his Bachelor of Science in Biological Sciences from UC Irvine in 2010. He went on to complete his Doctorate of Optometry at the UC Berkeley School of Optometry in 2018. He later completed a residency in Ocular Disease and Primary Care at the San Francisco VA Medical Center. Services Dr. Szu provides comprehensive care with a clinical focus on ocular disease management, low vision rehabilitation, and primary eye care. His approach blends evidence-based treatment with calm communication, making him a trusted provider for routine and complex vision needs. Awards & Recognitions While at UC Berkeley, Dr. Szu was honored with several distinctions, including The Robert B. Greer Award for Excellence in Low Vision (2018), The Gold Retinoscope Award (2018), and The Ambassador of the Year Award (2016). He is also a member of the Beta Sigma Kappa International Optometric Honor Society.
